I was born in 1985 in North Charleston, SC, and grew up moving up and down the East Coast before eventually settling in North Carolina with my mom. I left school early to work full time and to help make ends meet, and later earned my GED while living in Portland, Oregon, where I also studied computers, web development, and graphic design. Over the years I’ve worked a wide range of jobs such as construction, retail, manual laborer before eventually landing in my current role with a company I’m proud to be part of. Along the way I developed lifelong passions for gaming, music, hockey, and technology—interests that still shape a lot of who I am today.
My life changed in the best way when I met my wife, Becke, whose courage through a severe and complex case of Crohn’s Disease has taught me more about strength, love, and resilience than anything else ever could. We married in 2015—actually in her hospital room after a medical setback on the day of our wedding—and since then we’ve navigated life’s challenges together, including my own diabetes diagnosis in 2015, which I overcame with aggressive treatment and lifestyle changes and have under control and no longer a concern. Today, I share my story and experiences as a way to process life, stay grounded, and hopefully connect with others facing their own battles. This is my life, and these are my views.
