I was born in 1985 in North Charleston, South Carolina, and spent much of my childhood moving up and down the East Coast before eventually settling in North Carolina with my mom. I left school early to work full-time and help make ends meet, because apparently adulthood decided to show up ahead of schedule. Later, while living in Portland, Oregon, I earned my GED and studied computers, web development, and graphic design.
Over the years, I’ve worked a little bit of everything: construction, retail, manual labor, and plenty of other jobs that build character whether you ask for it or not. Eventually, I found my way into my current role with a company I’m genuinely proud to be part of. Along the way, I developed lifelong passions for Music, Photography, Hockey, and Gaming — interests that still shape a lot of who I am today.
My life changed in the best possible way when I met my wife, Becke. Her courage through a severe and complex case of Crohn’s Disease has taught me more about strength, love, patience, and resilience than anything else ever could. We were married in 2015 in her hospital room, actually, after a medical setback on what was supposed to be our wedding day. It wasn’t exactly the plan, but it was absolutely us.
Since then, we’ve faced life’s challenges together, including my own diabetes diagnosis in 2015. Through aggressive treatment, lifestyle changes, and a fair amount of stubbornness, I was able to get it under control, and today it is no longer a major concern.
I share my story and experiences as a way to process life, stay grounded, and hopefully connect with others who may be facing their own battles. This is my life, and these are my views.
